Welcome to my blog!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Marta Fernández and I am a teacher. In this blog I have included different activities that can be done with the help of ICT tools to work and improve contents with our students. To create my material and activities, I have used different computer programs learned in this first module (1-6 units) of the subject " ICT Tools Applied to the Learning of the English Language" . I have also created my own logo to make the blog a little more interesting. I have chosen the name thinking that it would be a striking name for the students (since "little" and "mini" mean practically the same thing...I thought it was nice to join the two words). I hope you enjoy it! WRITING: Places in a City with Hot Potatoes To practice writing skills, I created a crossword puzzle with the Hot Potatoes application. With this activity, students will review how to spell some vocabulary words related to places in a city. Index => Crossword Complete the crossword, then click on "Check" to check your answer. If you are stuck, you can click on "Hint" to get a free letter. Click on a number in the grid to see the clue or clues for that number.           1                                                               2                                                 ...

SPEAKING: Describing Pictures with Canva

SPEAKING ACTIVITY: DESCRIBING PICTURES  To practice speaking skills, let's play a game.  Two students go out to the board. The teacher will give one of the students a picture with many elements (for example, a landscape).  The student must describe the picture and his partner must try to draw the same picture on the board, following his friend's directions, in English. I have created with the website Canva some examples of pictures to carry out the activity.

READING: Gamification game with Genial.ly

READING ACTIVITY: Gamification game with Genial.ly To practice reading comprehension I have created a game.  The student must read in English and understand what he/she is reading in order to click on the correct option.  In addition, this activity serves to practice vocabulary related to means of transportation. LISTENING: A story and a game with Kahoot

Imagen
To practice listening comprehension, I have chosen a video that tells a story in English. The students will have to listen to it carefully and they can take any notes they want. When the students finish listening to it, we will ask them some questions through the Kahoot application. If there is the possibility of projecting it on a digital whiteboard, the students will show more interest, because the fun of Kahoot is that each student chooses a user name, the scores of each student appear, it appears who have the most points.... I think it is a very entertaining activity and with which students can learn a lot. Once the video is finished, you must enter the Kahoot website and enter the following code:   05664773 www.kahoot.it
